Default Question about Server Liveliness

Hey all,

Played classic EQ (actually, Beta, too) way back when. Nostalgia has been kicking in a bit so I've been contemplating returning to EQ for a bit.

How lively is the P99 server? Are there at least enough new or revolving players that you are likely to be able to find groups for leveling? Or should I expect to be soloing basically everything until high level?

I'm level 18 and so far there have been people virtually everywhere I go (with the exception of the Qeynos area - that was relatively dead).

At one point last Friday I had a group of people around level 15 and we were having trouble actually finding a spot to go. NRo Dervs were all taken, Oasis highway was flooded with multiple groups. HHP orcs/gnolls were taken, etc. Was really surprising to see such a low level community on such an established server.

I don't know if that changes at any point, but so far I've had nothing but positive experiences.

The server literally seems like it was back when the game launched. People are everywhere, tunnel is packed, KC Seb and HS are monsters to get groups in as usual and everyone is just loving it. Truely an original EQ experience.

Yeah at peak times it is becoming really hard to even get into a group. But that will change when Velious comes out end of next month.

Trick is to play on off hours. Problem solved. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Well your Mom, Wife, Girlfriend, Job, may not like that idea. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.][You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I started playing 2 days ago. I was shocked. People everywhere, lively and peaceful /ooc. Corpses riddled everywhere. Instantly felt I was back in time. Loving this.

When I was lvling around 1-15 I in the qeynos area about a month ago it was lively. Haven't been back there but I would hope qeynos, qeynos hills and BB are still going strong.

Yeah, I've been in Qeynos for the last few days. Have seen from 5-15ish people in Qeynos Hills depending on the time of day, and similar numbers in Blackburrow. Once you're out into the WK/NK/EK it's usually just a few people soloing or maybe in a duo, but there's pretty regularly groups in SK once you get there.

Aye, same account from me as previous notes. I started up on p99 last month and have had just an absolute blast meeting and playing with newcomers and veterans of the server alike. Lots of people to group with all the time!

My advise would be to get a friend interested as well, then run duoable classes. Has worked out for myself as part of a shm/sk duo. Friend players on your way up that show game nous and generally good folks.

Be aware server is extremely top heavy so you'll find anything worth farming camped most times, no matter what lvl named is and a multitude of very well equiped alts running around (looking at you rog twinks with RB, swear its a tick box on rogue creation "spawn with RB")
