Default component transfer error during install

i got a new comp and have OG titanium discs. everything goes fine until i have to insert disc 2. when i do i get a component transfer error - everquest trilogy - catastrophic failure. the discs do not have any scratches and they are clean. anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a CRC error- Try installing on a different PC/with a different CD reader. Dirty/Old/Damaged CD readers can give you this error even with fresh pressed discs. Try installing to a different folder. E.G. Instead of C:/program files/sony/everquest try just C:/Everquest.

the computer is brand new out of the box. it shouldnt have a bad cd reader. ill try installing it into a dif folder. could it be because of windows 8?

Try to copy all the files from the disc, then do a setup.

i.e. if your Titanium is 5 cds:
-place the first cd in drive, don't run install. instead browse to the drive contents, and copy all the files into a new folder
-do the same with disc 2/3/4/5
-attempt running setup from the new folder

nilbog, i copied al 5 discs into new folders. i ran the set up out of folder 1. when i get to 37% i get the same error i got before. any more ideas? im having a hard time finding another titanium that will work too. it would be nice if the discs would just work correctly
