Miscellaneous: Killing Paineel guards possibly giving +paineel faction

I recently went to the warrens with my necro and got amiable faction to get the paineel key. I conned everything and everything in the zone was amiable to me (except an erudite lady that wasn't listed in the wiki which I added).

I banked, bought my spells, trained and conned the guards and still amiable. I then decided to kill a couple guards for their swords/shields (they vendor for about 7pp per) and don't have faction hits, or so I thought..

After killing about 3 guards, I conned a bunch of npcs and suddenly, everyone was kindly! I did no quests and had no faction messages from anything! The only thing I did was kill a few guards. So either they are supposed to give you faction hits (which makes no sense) and the bug is it is not saying it or it's not supposed to give faction hits (which makes sense) but it is.
