![]() Hello all! New player here. I started a monk because it was one of my favorite classes back in D&D. I began in Qeynos and got some decent XP. I'm level 14 and looking for a new place to level as Blackburrow is getting dull.
Also, is there anything else besides cloth and leather that I can wear? Is there any place I can hunt my level to get decent monk armor/items? Thanks!

![]() I'm regretting having had rolled a Monk.
Why are there so damned many? I mean, I get that we're cool and all, but damn.

![]() My highest character was a Monk back in classic and my biggest gripe was how hard it is to make money and be effective because of the weight limit. One bronze weapon and you're over it!

![]() You won't need to worry about that too much until you're much higher level honestly. I duo with a monk and he's 46 now and he's pretty much always encumbered and seems to do just fine.

If you don't have magic weapons yet, try hunting bandits in West Karana and turning in their sashes to the paladin guild in South Qeynos for a bronze weapon that sells for a few plat each. As for gear, you will pretty much have to trek to East Commonlands tunnel to get anything. Save up about 250p and then ask for a port to WC (you will have to go to North Karana to find a port). Try to buy a full set of cured silk armor and a Wu's Quivering Staff. This will last you a very very long time. Quote:

I have no qualms with the class. Love it. Always have, always will. I have no interest in going into to a raid with/against 9 other Monks.

![]() I am making cured silk sets for 20pp if you provide the silk, could go 15pp if you are low on cash. See the following thread and reply there if you wish.

![]() If you level up in South Karana you can sell your drops to Krak Windchaser using sneak, with your heavy coin you just made buy topaz, it stacks, weighs .1, sells back for around 5pp and he has an unlimited supply.
You can also train new skills as you level off of Brother Qwinn, very handy not having to run back to town. Bind at the gypsy camp in North Karana, short corpse run you can take bigger risks. I think I went to SK around 15 and stayed until 34 or 35... I made a couple thousand plat from vendoring the topaz back in town and learned all my skills from Qwinn.

![]() Forgot to add: buy Medicine bags, theres a vendor near the Qeynos bank. They weigh .4 , 8 slots, large capacity, as opposed to backpacks that weigh 3.0. They cost around 1 plat.
