Default Charming in CT...

Anyone tried it?

Druids if it wasn't obvious.

I did several levels with the gators on my druid. Great xp when it was working right but things could go badly wrong on occasion and it was difficult to escape. Well worth the risk from my perspective.

Huge risk solo. I would take another caster with you.

Pfft, where's the fun in that? Actually, a duo would probably be nice but I think I died three times (and one of those was due to linkdeath) in several levels there and it was quick to make back. My gear is entirely unimpressive, so I think it's overstating to call it a huge risk.

The land gators are usually in 2-3s so those are good.

The gators in the green or blue water pits are far more plentiful and harmony isn't as effective because of Z Axis variability. I never bothered soloing here in my day as a druid, but I would think this is a decent alternative to mammoths from 24ish-30.

The gators and gorillas in CT are entirely underrated.

I never did them solo, though. My boy and I duo'd the whole way. It was pretty insane. In my opinion, the only reason why you should solo is if you're trying to farm a certain drop, and even then it doesn't really work out that well. If you have one really good partner you can rely on and you trust each other, you never have to solo a day in your life and you can have your pick of the litter as far as XP and Loot locations go.

I've charmed more gorillas in the throne room than I have gators. The drawback to charming gorillas is that you're fighting lizards that can heal themselves so you have to drop a nuke at the right time to get the lizard to run without healing, and you're always keeping your pet rather than getting a 2-fer. The upside is that the throne room and behind it actually has a few loot drops. Escape from this area is also much easier as the zone out is close.

I'd view charming in CT more as a fun/challenging exercise than I would as "efficient" in either case.

Piss on CT. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Avoid that zone with a passion. You will have no trouble having the zone all to yourself. No other dummy will be in it lol. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
