![]() Hello,
For the life of me I can't figure out what happened. I was playing my bard this morning and everything was fine, but suddenly the game began to stutter oddly. It feels like the frame rate is out of sync or something. And it has never stopped stuttering since. The only way to fix it is to run the game without WinEQ2, so I'm thinking it's an issue with WinEQ2. However, I tried everything: I turned off EQPlayNice, I messed around with the options in both EQ and WinEQ2 (I'm using the free version), I uninstalled and reinstalled WinEQ2, I updated my drivers, I can't find any help on this on their website or forum. This stutter doesn't exist in any other game I play. The game ran silky smooth, and then suddenly the stutter happened like day and night. I have no idea what could have changed while playing the game. Anyone have any ideas?

![]() Edit: Nevermind, the issue returned almost instantly. It was smooth for a few moments then went back to stutter. What is going on here?
I managed to fix this by uninstalling and reinstalling EQ. I would still like to figure out how this happened in the first place. Must have been some file that got corrupted somewhere. I'll make a nice backup of the EQ folder (already configured by the Duxa all-in-one installer) so if this happens again I can fix this in 5 minutes.

![]() was it only happening on 1 character?
usually log files. do you have logging turned on? sometimes just need to delete (or rename) the old log file so it starts a new one - for that specific character!

![]() It happens on all characters. And I do not have logging turned on, so there are no log files for any of them.

![]() Ramdisk didn't seem to effect this at all.
Remember, WinEQ2 was working absolutely fine until randomly this morning. I saw the change from smooth to stutter during the play session. Playing without WinEQ2 I have no stutter issue at all, but I prefer to use WinEQ2 to fix some of the other issues I tend to have in EQ.

![]() Maybe I described this poorly. This isn't the micro stutter caused by people entering and exiting the zone. I call it stutter because my FPS is supposed to be smooth, but it essentially feels like a nonstop skipping of the graphics and animations and is very noticeable. It's as if the frame rate of the game became capped at 30 or so, but nothing can alter it. Changing options in or turning off EQPlayNice does nothing, neither does the EQ Options, and it was running at a smooth 60FPS before. When it happened, I was just walking through LFay and bam, it began doing this and will not stop regardless what I've done to rectify it. Only after turning off WinEQ2 does this stop and the game runs smooth as silk again.
The strange thing is reinstalling EQ fixes this for a moment. But as soon as I alt tab, it returns to the stutter until I reinstall EQ again. As I disabled EQPlayNice, it can't be the FPS or CPU Limiter effecting the game.

![]() I still have this issue today. I gave up my Bard due to it. It only happens on my desktop and again, nothing fixes it.
My laptop has no issues with stutter at all. Desktop: AMD 8350FX 16GB DDR3 1600 R9 270 GigaByte MB I tried everything that's been written in every forum posted here. Nothing worked.
