Where to play?

Greetings all!

I have been on P99 Blue since around December last year. I love it. its great to relive the old zones and still have the same community base we all love. I made a Necro, got it to 40 and really wanted to make a toon on Red so I just rolled a bard and its amazing!

Here is my question though. I want to "raid" nothing hardcore but even if its a few nights a week, weekends etc. And I know Blue is a stagnant pool of same guilds crying its their turn or this or that. Red99 has an appeal to me of it you can kill the other guild... you get the kill! which will be fun and a new breath of life to EQ for me.
But its not a giant suckfest of <insert guild name here> just zerging every spawn and no other guilds can compete is it?

Also is a bard a good intro toon to a new server for me? Should I roll the standard, Necro, druid, chanter to farm enough gear to twink something? or can the bard handle pretty well on that front?

<empire> is the largest end game raiding guild by 2-3x any other guild and kills 95% of the raid mobs.

bard is not the best farming class, but is a good pvp class. if you can swarm kit you will be lvl 50+ fast as hell and grouping in dungeons with good loot.
