Spells: Buffs removed upon zonein

Sometimes when I zone I lose all of my buffs. It happened a few months ago and stopped and has now started happening again. There is nothing to it, I'll have some buffs, then zone. and have none.

when you zone with less HP than the sum of HP from all of your items

you lose all buffs (including detrimental ie dots)

Because that is how it worked in classic.

When zoning the server first loads your character, then it loads your gear.

If you have less HP than what your gear adds, then you would load as negative HP before your gear was applied. Instead of killing you, the server just removes your buffs.

That still doesn't make sense tho. What if the only buff I have on is sow? That doesn't effect hp, so how would removing it make it so that I didn't die?

It isn't that removing the buffs saves you from death, the server basically resets your character state (removing all beneficial and detrimental spell effects) rather than sending you to bind.
