Default Hello

New player, was feeling a bit nostalgic and I stumbled on your forums. I started playing two days ago and I'm really into it. Amazing project you have going on here. I played on The Combine server a few years ago, progression server. It was great but nothing like P1999. This is EQ at its finest!

So I'm playing a necro right now. I used to play a cleric and a chanter back in the early 2000s (Kunark, Velious, Luclic, PoP) then a mage on the Combine but I've always had a soft spot for Necromancers and I wanted to play a solo class.

See you all online!

Char name: Kenshiki

Hey gabe84, welcome to P1999! I just started myself, I'm a newbie human necro in Freeport. I think I'm level 2 or 3. Pretty fun and exciting! Hope you see you running around in game!

I'm a dark-elf, level 5. Been hunting around in EC. We'll probably run into one another.

So many great memories. I gotta say, I find the game very hard (which is good). I keep remembering different things from 10-15 years ago and thinking to myself, "oh yeah, I better be careful about this, it's a death trap". And then I realize... My god, there are a lot of death traps in this game!

Man at least you can remember that stuff, I swear I died to random KOS NPCs at least twice yesterday. I wandered into EC just to check out the entrance (I'm super new to the area, no idea how to get around in FP or EC) and I opened one hut, one guy was amiable was a vendor. Open the second hut, DEAD. Oh man, that was funny.

Yes I've been using it to find my way around Nektulos and Neriak! Amazing addition. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks curtischoy, I actually stumbled upon that after playing yesterday but I haven't really had a chance to go through it, I'll take a look now.

Welcome all, and yes the wiki is awesome. It's pretty much like EQAtlas + Alakhazam + Caster's Realm + EQTraders + every other website you used to visit back in the day.

A couple pages in particular worth nothing (mainly because I worked hard on them [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]):

http://wiki.project1999.com/Guilds:Guild_List (the guild list, perfect for finding the guild you want to join)
http://wiki.project1999.com/Per-Level_Hunting_Guide (most if not all of the good places to hunt, either solo or in a group, for your level)

Thanks Loramin!

I'll take a peek at the two pages you pointed out, looks like they'll be very helpful.

I cannot praise the work that has went into this whole project enough. I had no idea what to expect but man... Everything is detailed out to be like in the first years of EQ. All those websites you've listed, I've spent an astounding amount of time reading. It's great to have all of this info into one place.
