Default Pvp class balance change in velious?

I'm very new to pvp and will be completely new to velious. I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I'm trying to correct it. I've done some reading, and I think I understand most of the biggest pve class changes. Does anyone have any idea how class balance will likely change in velious?

Some first pass, highly ignorant analysis from me:
a) Hybrids get discs. Bard discs look nice, maybe not that great if you have epic? Paladin discs look terrible for pvp. Ranger and SK get seemingly OP pvp discs.
b) Large boost to stats on casual accessible gear. Outrageous boost to stats on NToV gear. Most dps classes won't see much in terms of weapon upgrades from current BiS pre-VP gear, except those with access to drops from NToV and sleeper's tomb where the upgrades are ridiculous. For most classes outside of hardcore raiders we'll see inflated hp but a much lower rise in dps.

as always, play whats fun for you bud.

a) hybrids definitely get a bit of a boost in utility across the board, rangers get a huge boost, SK HT disc a much nicer burst. also a big upgrade for pallies is their HOT

b) there is sooo many gear upgrades and weapon upgrades its not even funny. pixel fiends will start getting a huge pvp advantage in terms of pure HP and Mana pool. Will likely be dealing with 4k mana pools on casters and 4-5k hitpoint tanks unbuffed within a few months of neckbeards going at it.

to list a few of the pvp game changer weapons that will only be accessible to people raiding in my view are: primals (duh), dragonspine rapier, petrified heartwood 2H, massive heartwood thorn, AoW bow, gaudralek 2H, dain hammer. will also be interested to see how cheesy items like wrapped entropy spines are. if any of these weapons look interesting to you and you are a neckbeard, that could influence your class selection.

another pvp advantage top raiders will have is a stupid amount of clickies - cloak of thorns, chestplate of fiery might, dain ring, tunare belt, etc. this is a huge pvp advantage. these becoming widespread will devalue chanters a bit in high end small sided pvp though they are stilll always awesome.


that being said obviously seem mid tier stuff that will be pretty accessible after the initial rush, like skyshrine armor, eyepatch of plunder, benevolence quests, vindi gear, easy world dragons like wuoshi, kelorek dar, WW dragons for dragonhide that will definitely be a nice step up from kunark.

With the huge increase in melee damage, HP, and resists that Velious will bring, we better be seeing a modified PvP damage table for caster damage and many of the pets, plus removing the "5% per attack reduction in channeling chance". At least modify it for levels 55+, but probably should be for all levels since most people in this game are going to be twinks. Being able to land nothing but Lure as a Wizard, for example, and a melee class doing way more DPS in a short timeframe, if you're even able to get a couple Lures off without being interrupted, is just gross.

The exact numbers need discussion/testing but right now I would say: increase caster DoT damage + Nuke damage + Necro pet damage to 80%, Wizard Lure to 85%, Mage pet damage to 90%, and Druid DoT's + pet to 100% (for reals they need a significant boost; at least let them create some pressure by forcing people to stop and pell the DoT's).

I feel like Velious is going to suck because of the gear disparity and how much more spread out the game world will be. Kunark is really the "Golden" era for this kind of server. The amount of content and size of the game world feels rather perfect, melee get to shine in fights without being completely ridiculous, and toons without the best gear still provide enough of a threat. When 2 level 60's zone in somewhere and see 4 level 60's of a different guild, they probably aren't going to attack. In Velious, though, a top-geared melee can take out 4 "noob" geared people all by themself. That's just wrong and bad for the server.

Casters need buffed big time. Pet damage should be 100% as pets are a burden on this server currently (thanks dudes fearing them into mobs).

I'd be all for allowing feared pets to /sit. Charm-poofing pets shouldn't be a thing either.
