Default Old characters wont load

Recently started playing after taking a year or so off and none of my old characters are showing up on the character menu. I was able to make a new character to test if the game was working and the movement, frame rate, spell casting and attacking seemed to be working fine. Running it on Windows 7 64 bit.
I've done all the basic file installation/deletion:
Running in a fresh directory,
arena.eqg
arena_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
lavastorm.eqg
nektulos.eqg
Nektulos_EnvironmentEmitters.txt all taken out,
Updated drivers,
Tried running with "Launch Titanium" and "eqgame.exe" both with/without various compatibility modes and "C:\your eq folder extension\eqgame.exe" patchme,
eqhost.txt is normal.

The game works fine when running it through "eqgame.exe" in Windows XP SP 2 Compatibility mode.

Have not tried WinEQ2 yet since the game is running fine and doesn't seem to be a multicore cpu issue, plus it seems to bring problems of its own from the posts i've read.

Not really sure how to proceed from here and any help would be appreciated.

If you're able to login, create a character, enter world, and then have that new character show up in the list then it's probably not a software issue. You're probably either logged into the wrong account or you shared your account with someone who hates you and deleted them all.

Thanks for the reply although I highly doubt both of those, I know for sure it's the right account and well... not to sound naive or anything but.. I know the 1 person I shared it with pretty damn well enough to know he wouldn't do that.

Edit: Just got stuck in midair after jumping, might be a multicore issue after all. Although having no characters show up still makes me think I am missing a file somewhere.. will probably cave in and try wineq2 tomorrow

2nd edit: Well....... I was able to log on to my sisters account (Without WinEQ2) who has an enchanter on red and all of the characters loaded perfectly fine.
Standing still and jumping still makes me get stuck in midair and jumping while moving slows me down considerably. Also the X mouse axis is waaaay more sensitive than the Y axis. Those seem to be the only problems though aside from the obvious missing characters.. zoning, movement, spell casting, combat and looting are all normal.
Someone also told me in-game to try deleting the character .ini files, I did that and the level 1 character is still the only thing that shows up.

Knowing the 1 person you shared it with doesn't necessarily mean anything, unless you know the dozen people they shared it with. Unless you're sharing a bed and clothes with the person you shared it with, you really don't know them well enough. And even then...

Do you perhaps have more than one account and are logging into the wrong one?

Triple check that you're on the right server. And don't use "quick connect."

It is definitely the right server (Not using quick connect), I had characters on blue and red and both servers are blank, even the random gearless level 1's that I hadn't played yet were gone.
I was able to try my sisters account and the characters loaded without a problem, seems to be only this account.

Fixed the problem, I'm an idiot and was logging in to the wrong account.

(There was some issue with my first account a looong time ago, a GM made me make a new account and transferred all my chars)

Thanks for your help.
