Default Torn.. Enc / Nec / Dru

Hey guys. I'm quite torn.. I currently have an 11 druid. but it a) feels so slow and b) unsure if i want to stick with it.
What is the better for solo play since my grouping days are minimal. (and easymode)

Druid
Enchanter
Necro

and of the 3, which race is the preferred/best for simplicity of getting around/leveling.

My "main" toons are a 35 Druid, 38 Enchanter, 40 Necro.. I've been here maybe 3? years and am a super casual, so I can see where you're coming from.

Short answer: They're all great solo'ers. Roll all of 'em and give them a test drive and stick with what you enjoy the most.

Long answer: They're all great solo'ers, but some are easier and quicker than others.
Druid and Enchanter can both charm kite effectively starting at 20, and honestly anything else is a waste of time. The trick is knowing/finding spots where you have constant pulls. The downside to this is you'll need to be very attentive or you'll die a lot. Both have the tools to charm kite very easily. Druids have to be on the hunt for animal-heavy zones, whereas Enchanters just need two or more mobs around the same level.

Necros can charm kite, but I haven't found a good spot yet at 40, mostly because fear kiting/root rotting is so mind bogglingly easy. Druids can root rot/fear kite (animals) too, but not nearly as well. At 34, my Druid can DoT for 58dmg/tick, whereas my Necro could DoT for 124dmg/tick..and it only gets worse the higher you level. I should add though that Druids get several Free DoT items, so eventually you can kill mobs by only casting root.

Either way, I really do suggest at least rolling all of these classes and getting them to ~24 before you pick one. I started off Druid and loved charm kiting, so I rolled an Enchanter. Eventually I wanted to be able to AFK more reliably, so I rolled a Necro. It's all about personal taste.

Races that everyone always picks:
Druid-> Halfling
Necro-> Iksar (stay on Kunark)
Enchanter-> High Elf

Druid halfling, so blegh.

If you aren't an elf you are fail.

Necromancer gotta go Iksar cause of that regen.

Enchanted High elf is very win. Dark elf is pretty good too. Everything else isn't elfy enough.

Imo..
Wood elf druid, no rational. Halflings get sneak and "bonus" Exp though, which would be nice.

Erudite Enchanter, because after bonus attribute points they're the same as High Elves but don't look like horses.

Iksar Necro, though I prefer Erudite or Dark elf for lore. Iksars embody the "I-don't-give-a-fudge" nature of necros very well, and yeah... regen.

But, I think our OP just wanted the cheese, and (I could be wrong) Halfling/Highelf/Iksar are what you usually see for Druid/Ench/Necro.

All of the above is good advice, except chanter race... Gnome!

Srsly though, chanter race is the one that matters the least. As long as you're agnostic, you'll eventually be able to go just about anywhere with no aggro and look like whatever race you want.

All of the druid races are decent, I went with Wood Elf.

In terms of soloability, I'd say enchanter starts out the weakest but becomes the strongest. Necro is pretty strong throughout the levels, and druid starts out easier than enchanter but ends up close to a necro (but is the only one of the three that can quad).

IMO, their rankings by solo technique...
For charming, enchanter > druid > necro
For fear kiting, necro > druid > enchanter
For aggro kiting, druid > necro > enchanter
For root rotting, necro > druid > enchanter
For quadding, druid and only druid

And other rankings...
Ease of getting around, druid (ports & sow) > enchanter (illusions) > necro (hated everywhere but can FD)

Ease of finding a group, enchanter (insta-invites) > druid (usually to heal if no cleric) > necro (dots take too long in groups)

Simplicity of leveling, necro (fear kite is stupid easy) > druid (several options including fear kite) > enchanter (requires paying a lot more attention)

I'm sure some will disagree with me, but these are based on my experiences both on Live and on p99.

Just to elaborate. There are a lot of things necros bring to a group, especially utility. They can CC, nuke somewhat efficiently, lull / FD pull, FD if things go awry (only class that can FD then rez at higher levels), and can charm undead for fairly good constant DPS. I would rather have a good necro over a mage or wizard in my group anyday of the week.

Its just a lot of necromancers don't know how to play in a group so they DOT things up then have the mobs die 20% into the DOT.

Too many shitty necromancers -> People thing necros suck in groups.

Druids print money. If you are by yourself and are just starting out, level your druid to 29 and then port for money. People tip 100pp+ for 1 minute of work

From there, you can gear out a necro (CoS, etc) or an enc (most gear dependent caster since you get beat on so much)

I would recommend making your second character on an account other than your druid. Not for boxing, but so that your friend could hop on and help port your enc/nec around.
