I see what amounts to 10-12 corpses. Hardly, a holocaust. Nevermind the fact, the US has Guantanamo (800 prisoners tortured on a regular basis). Nevermind, that the US regularly sends war prisoners to be tortured/executed/jailed for life with no trial in allied countries. Nevermind, many of the stories released about Syria have been proven to be complete fabrications or propaganda by the US/Israel/Turkey. Nevermind, there isnt a single piece of evidence that links this directly to Assad....for all you know it was ISIS that committed these crimes or a rogue general.

I thought people would have at least half a clue after the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Vietnam, etc. that the US usually fabricates the evidence they need to bomb brown folk back to the stone age. Then they swoop in, prop up a dictator, and multinational companies take over from there to siphon all the wealth from the region.

I read the article. The photos were smuggled out of Syria by a photographer who has since defected and is known only by his code name, Caesar. That isnt proof even by US judicial standards (which are poor to begin with). Show me indisputable proof that Assad was complicate or ordered these tortures and it isnt just some journalist paid off by the US to justify another war.

Even if the photos were 100% proof that Assad ordered torture and murder. Why should US citizens give two shits? It isnt our place to police the world. It only creates blowback and hatred towards the US. Show me one country that is glad the US poked it's nose into their internal affairs. It always comes back to bite us in the ass. The only people that benefit from unending wars are oil barons, mercenaries, and weapons manufacturers.

I also would like to point out how you completely ignored my point about Guantanamo and the US sending captured "terrorist" to places like Turkey to get tortured. Apparently, it is ok when the US does it to thousands of people but if it is even remotely possible that a non-ally of the US murdered a few dozen radicalized militants (that were funded and backed by Turkey, Israel, and the US) your panties get all twisted.

Well, there are four ways in which a country can lose its sovereignty according to international law.

1. Irresponsible development of nuclear weaponry - violating the non-proliferation act in letter or spirit
2. The invasion of or aggression against other sovereign states
3. Violating the genocide convention
4. Giving refuge or acting as a host for terrorists

It's not about policing the world, but rather ensuring that rogue states don't end up harboring and exporting terrorism, and aren't allowed to commit war crimes against humanity. It's no secret that Saddam Hussein tried developing nukes. I think we can all imagine what the world would be like if Israel hadn't bombed Iraq's nuclear reactor in 1981. He also used WMDs against Kurds, and was constantly trying to get more.

Right, blowback and hatred from those who want to murder innocent civilians, export terrorism, rape and throw battery acid on the faces of non-compliant women, kill people for apostacy, and hold neighboring countries - and eventually the world - in a perpetual state of hostage blackmail once they get their hands on nuclear arms. It's time to stand up to this hatred and stop cowering beneath it. Just because they hate our freedom, our secularism, our thriving society and quality of life doesn't mean we should stop standing up for human rights. Genocide - no matter where it happens - absolutely needs to be prevented by any means possible.
