Default Necro, Enchater or Druid?

Hello there..

In a few hours I will join you on 1999, cant wait for it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

my main will be a Monk, but later on, my first goal is a farm Char to make pp, farm gear for monk (and himself).
but I cant decide between Necro, Druid (have expirience with both back in the day) and Enchanter..

What I see is..Necro is good for solo spots in dungeons and aggro/fear kiting..maybe at spots where other classes fail. But no speed buff, no Ports

With Druid I can Port for donation, outdoor kiting, and have fast movement. Ah and can heal in Groups if I want to..

Enchanter I never played, back in the day I saw them in every group, charming, messing and buffing around. So I guess ENC would be fine for sitting in EC Tunnel and getting donated for clarity and haste buffs, like druid with Ports..and for grouping.

mh can anyone help me out with that? What are your opinions for the overall "best" class for a farming char out of these 3?

thx
Raszul

Bottom line, of course, is to do what you have fun doing.

That aside though, in my opinion if you are making your monk first and playing him primarily, you really shouldn't make an alt to farm with to supply your monk with gear. Just play the monk full time. Monks are decent-enough soloers so if you get him levels, he will be able to kill stuff or sell PL or whatever to make you some ok cash (besides just grouping, especially duo/trio, at higher-level cash camps). And by using JUST the monk, you save all the "lost" time that you'd need to level the alt to a point he can do anything meaningful.

But if you are dead set on making one of these three, the answer still is "it depends."

If you want to farm somewhat casually, with a character that isn't necessarily max level, then druid or necro would be best. Druid can sell some PL and ports and buffs and do some limited farming like mid-level named camps (stuff from glowing black stone and jboots and goblin earring up to chief/bodyguard in droga, sniping nameds in KC, etc). Necro is better at the actual farming, but doesn't have the porting/PL potential that a druid does.

Enchanter is the stronger choice for level 60, high-end farming, where you're camping level 50+ nameds for their gear and then selling it. You won't make much money selling chanter buffs though, and leveling all the way to 60 and learning how to handle tough camps (especially if you are trying to solo once Velious comes) is pretty tricky and time consuming.

But definitely don't do something like this UNLESS you like doing it in and of itself. You'd be much better off just playing the monk than having a druid alt that you group with. Levels are basically THE key to making money with every class, and like I said, monk can do pretty well at that whether casually soloing mid-level camps or grouping at cash camps or, best of all, pairing up with 1-2 others (shamans, clerics, enchanters mainly) and doing higher-level camps.

You're not going to make much plat buffing on this server, there's always plenty of level 60's sitting in the tunnel doing it for free, Myself included.

I'm not sure monk is a great first toon since you can't loot like a mad man, but any toon 50+ will be able to make money. Every camp in KC or Seb drops something of value. The trick is to level, that's where money comes from, not farming.

Once you're 60 and want extra pp that's why you camp freeti or Frenzy or whatever on your monk and start farming. Until you're 60 Don't worry about it.

Hey there...

I guess you got it wrong a bit, The Way with the farm char IS fun for me, I always do this in Games, if possible. The Monk will be the "Luxus", but first I wanna play a good alround Char.
The only Char of these 3 (Druid,Necro, ENC) I dont know (and if I would have fun playin him) is the ENC.
Maybe I dont lvl him up to maxlvl all the time, so not Enchanter, its goin between Druid and Necro. Mhm...

Ah okay,so buffing for pp is not the best idea uh? I was just remembering ENCs back in the day 2000 sitting in the Tunnel and take donations for Clarity (Kodiacs endless intellect?) and haste.

Druids are pretty bad at making money unless you are powerleveling.

Porting is enough to pay for some mid-tier upgrades and your spells. But you won't be buying a Hiero Cloak or even an FBSS with porting unless you do it for a very very long time.

Nobody pays for enchanter buffs. You can say "Buffing clarity for donations" all day long and most people will not tip you. Some will give you 1pp. Some will actually give you their waste gold and silver.

One time a guy offered me 1pp for clarity. I buffed him. He then gave me 100 silver and thought I should be grateful because enchanters are a dime a dozen. Lmao.

People just don't pay for clarity or sow. They pay for ports... but porting isn't enough to twink a MONK!

The best way to gear a monk is to get your monk to Level 60 and complete content.

So the Necro will be more "efficient" overall you say?

Necro or Enchanter if you want to farm plat. In both cases you won't be able to make decent amounts of money until you're in your 50s. At 60 you have a lot of really good options.

Okay, then it will be the Necro again. Played one back in vanilla and had a lot of fun.

The necro would have been my recommendation. Enc is not the easiest class to play solo or in a group.
