Necro Questions

I prefer to go with DE, but I believe that an evil race would make p99 even harder for me as a new player. I chose to go with Erudite over the other good races. Does anyone know how the grouping is on Odus? I assumed traveling to GFaydark would be too much of a hassle from the home of the tall skulls.

Also does anyone know of any budget or decent low lvl quested gear? I'm starting from scratch, so my coffers have nothing but hopes and dreams in them.

Hey Malistavus!

If you want to play a necromancer, evil is sort of the name of the game--I know humans/erudites/gnomes have it easier compared to DE/iksar. I honestly don't know about grouping in Odus, but I don't think its a very active place for low levels..someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I would recommend choosing the race you prefer over anything else. There are so many players on the server that no matter how evil you are you'll always find some friends!

As far as gear goes, don't worry about that for a necromancer. We're very strong even without it. Once you can save up a little money, you can usually get a decent enough robe (better colored, at least!) for 80-100 plat.

Odus is deserted. The majority of the newbie population is around Gfay and EC/Freeport.
I don't want you to think Kunark is deserted though. Field of Bone, Kurns, and other nearby zones are almost always populated if you go Iksar.

Dark elf is an evil race but still has access to some areas that an Iksar won't (like the Outpost in the Overthere). Race doesn't really matter in the looks department cause you'll be a skeleton the whole time no matter what.

Like polish said don't worry about gear. All plat will go to spells initially. Once you're 20 or so you can head to EC and maybe buy some gear.
Take a look at this awesome guide on Necros. You might be convinced by Sesserdrix to roll an Iksar in the end.

go iksar! The regen will make your life alot easier..... once you get 34 you can use CoBones to bank in neriak.

Ec tunnel buffs 1-20. Ec/Wc/Nro 1-11, Oasis crocs 11-18ish. Najena/Upper Guk 15+ for mega zem bonus per kill. Going dark elf won't make anything more difficult. Main decision is to go iksar or one of the other races. Then to focus on xp.

I chose DE for Nastalgic reasons, but Iksar is by far the best, if you need necro spells lmk i sell Research only spells 16-49

Iksars lvl in kurns too. I still got bone chips from my time spent there.

Me too. I have so many damn bonechips from camping the Iksar Berserker Club.

Gnomes are the superior necro race! However, the Iksar regen is nice. Dark Elves are always a popular choice also for that vampire feel.

Sit in tox rings, do /who all dial, get picked up in rings get ported to BB. Whenever u need spells run to steamfont and say you'll pay a noob 2-3 plat to run and pickup your spells for u.

Get as high as you can easily in tox/paineel first tho ofc. But wouldn't even bother goin to qeynos.
