I'm cool with soccer, but everyone in the US pretends they like it every 4 years because yay nationalism.

I'd laugh if they tried to do the world cup during the Fall - NFL would still dominate it in the states.

Not even close. Even factoring in internet streaming viewers the best estimate is about 26 million. The superbowl had 111.5 million viewers. That's a difference of 85.5 million.
