Default Mage Pet runs off

I have recently gone to three different dungeons for the first time and all three times my pet has gone through the wall/floor and pulled trains to my group, one of which wiped. Two out of three of those events the pet ran off the moment i conjured it - never had the slightest chance of controlling it. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm 3 for 3 and am gun shy now about dungeons with this mage - should i cut my loses and go to another class - it seems casters in general are a lot more glitchy than non-casters.

Classic [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Happened to me a few times with mage and necro but not often enough to be a real issue. Only thing to do is keep a close eye on your pet and dismiss it as soon as he starts to behave erratically and doesn't follow your orders to come back.

Should you give up? Depends. If you have fun with your mage, just learn to pay more attention to fluffy and continue having fun [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's very hard to pay attention to a pet that books the second you cast it . . .
thanks for the input.

This sometimes happens when you set pet to guard. Can usually fix by quickly hitting follow to get it back. Another thing is never summon pets when you are right next to a wall. The pet has a chance to fall thru world/warp somewhere else, similar to what happens to mobs when melee push sends them into a wall. From what you said that sounds like a good possibility. Don't be discouraged. I play in dungeons all the time and am fine.

best thing is to try and keep an eye on the pet, see it go through floor/wall relog instead of chancing the train.
