Default Magician questions

1) When did pets zone with you? Could that make it in on this server? Malachite goes fast.
2)Fire pet is the bomb I hear. Do they hold aggro better as they level? Some iffy aggro with the pet and alot running so far.
3)Give them summoned daggers? Rusty weapon drops? Nothing?
4) Any starter quests or basic classic things I should know as High Elf?

1) Who the eff cares? Yah malachites go fast especially when you start chaining. I devote one 10 slot bag to them and carry 200.

2) When I first started fire pet didn't hold agro at all. Smack that sucker with a little 4DD nuke and youd be kiting like a b. I think something was changed cause now they hold agro pretty well. If you are using firepet, there is no reason to cast but one level 1 spell anyway... so agro should be fine.

3) Dunno what level you are but by at 30+? you won't ever be giving you pet weps unless you are raiding or serious grouping (but why do that as a mage? unless you are grouping with other mages obv). I just summon those daggers, or give them gnoll hide lariats or something if you are all serious about it.

4) Don't worry about anything but leveling and having enough money for new spells and malachites (very cheap). Mage on a gear is nothing.

They need 2 daggers from 24-34 to dual wield.

To clarify, until you get your level 39 pets, they will not dual wield unless you give them two weapons. Level 39 pets dual wield with fists.

Don't forget to stock up on Lapis Lazuli before you hit level 12 or you will be hella pissed!

(level 12 and 16 pets require a different stone).

1. Way later on, several expansions after Velious (which is as far as it will go on this server)
2. They hold aggro fine, because of the high DPS and their fire DD. Earth pet holds aggro better because it casts root, but Fire pet is the pet of choice the majority of the time.
3. Later on you get some decent summoned weapons, I think dagger mainhand and sword offhand is often the choice, though I have also seen 2x dagger and 2x sword.
4. Don't know.

4. Turn in four bone chips at a time to Gunlok Jure in the Kaladim paladin guild for good EXP and some tattered leather armor at low levels. Turn in crushbone belts or two crushbone pads to Canloe Nusback in the Kaladim warrior guild for same (more EXP, though).

Pets didn't follow you through the zone until The serpents spine expansion iirc. The AA suspended minion was still needed to zone over pets. The ridiculous part is i hadn't logged on my necro main on live for about a year, came back to check things out and i still had a casted pet waiting for me when I entered world.

Fire pet is pretty good, the aggro holding just isn't there, but it's damage shield makes up alot of it's DPS, yes it does hit a little harder, I personally liked the water pet, not bad DPS, high AC so it tanks almost as well as earth, just no root and a little better DPS.

Yeah summoned weapons are the better way to go, but u dont get very 1 handers til about 16 or 20, most of your summoned weapons are 2handed.

I was a erudite so i dont know about high elves, the CB belts are good, could even sell them for pp if your heart desires.
