Default Mage XP question!

I've searched all over but have not found an answer to this question yet...

I understand that if your pet does over 50% of the damage, you only get 50% XP for the kill...

...but I also heard somewhere that if you don't at least do 1% of damage, you don't get any XP? Is this true?

For example, My water pet was able to handle kobolds in Steamfont just fine. For the times I didn't attack at all, just sending him in, was I not getting any experience? Thank you in advance!

from my experience, only lv 24 mind you.

the old p99 rules were that if you did at least 1% damage you got full xp, this changed to you needing to do at least 51% of the damage or pet would take half. You can do no damage at all and still get 50% xp from what i've seen.

Great! I must have put the 1% in my mind from reading about the old p99. Thank you for the clarification!
