Rogue - Pickpocketing giants at level 45

I just turned level 45 on my Rogue. I've heard that you can make some good coin pickpocketing hill giants. I wanted to go to Rathe Mountains and pickpocket those tall bastards.

Will I die?

i havent been able to PP any giants anywhere on my rogue. Doesnt even let me attempt.....

You will eventually get agro and if you can't kill it or zone, yes, you will die.

Pickpocketing is broken atm. A patch a long time ago the changed the flags which allowed pickpocketing to humanoid only. Pickpocket should work on monster flagged mobs as well, aka hill giants, but no longer does. It's really sad to see it not functioning here, because stealing 24p at a time was one of the most fun parts of being a rogue.

100% of my pre-52 cash farming on live was from solo pickpocketing hill giants for about 1k profit / day.

if you're a level 45 rogue why not just kill the giants. they are level 35'ish

If you are at the point where pick pocketing hill giants is meaningful money to you, chances are you aren't reliably soloing them in your current gear.
