Running EQ cripples internet connection for other applications

Was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue. This only happens on one of my computers (the others work fine). While i'm playing EQ my connection speed completely sucks when i try to download anything or browse websites. Many websites time out or crash. I can't download even small files < 1MB without getting "Failed - network error" messages. As soon as i quit EQ everything is fine.

This computer used to work just fine. The problem showed up after I wiped it clean and re-installed windows about 2 months ago.

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
AMD Athlon II X2 240 Processor 2.80 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
64 bit OS

Really i'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem. This is my wood shop computer and not the one i primarily use for gaming. Still it's nice for it to work well when i need to hide from the wife.
