Default Bob-

Lots of rumors, any official word on what happened to this guy? Did he return everyone's shit before he decided to go MIA? Just curious.

Interesting question. I have a few of my own since we're on the topic.

-How did Bob score his 3 letter name?

-Does Bob play another character? / Maintain some guild affiliation?
---Or is his calling simply brokering deals in EC?

His name originally was Bobthe, but as GM changed it to Bob when he was AFK, he had nothing to do with it.

He has no guild affiliation, and his main isnt very high level, hes basicly, a professional tunnel broker, which, imo, is cool. Ive known people in MMO's who made trading their "game", and were very good at it. Thats what Bob does.

Hes still got a whole bunch in plat of stuff from me, and Im not concerned at all.

Oh and I seriously doubt he's selling / buying plat, He knows its a violation of the server rules. Imo, people just paranoid and upset for nothing. I myself noticed he was gone, and sent him a PM on P99, which was responded to VERY swiftly... So, before ya make wild accusations, try communicating with the guy =D

I was just curious about doing full time brokering on an EMU, seems crazy but to each his own. From what I hear he does a very good job at it so seems like a win / win.

I know they've done all sorts of studies on in-game economy's with MMO's. Someone should recruit Bob [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I made good freinds with Bancah on the Feathermoon WoW server.

She was awesome, lol she never played anything more then a level 1 char, but she was a driving force on the servers economy, just by buying and selling.

Lots of people enjoying economics as a hobby, and MMO's certainly offer a nice chance. Actually, I think P99 over all has a VERY healthy economy, better then lots of games, because you cant buy/sell plat here.

Im sure some people try it on occation, but nothing is spam marketed, etc, and its very easy to catch and stop those who get caught.

Yes, you can, it is already being done. And I highly doubt that person who never played a level 1 char spent all her time trading just to watch the PP count on her screen go up.

So Bob's entire incentive for spending 5 - 10 hours of his day, presumably away from his wife and family, sitting in East Commonlands isn't gearing a main or serving any practical purpose or desired goal, no, that's just how he gets his jollies.. Buying and selling shit on an EMU server for a 10 year old game.. for 5 - 10 hours a day.. every day.

Interesting theory, Emoqq.

First of all, Bob works, and is able to play kind of idle from work. He spends time with his family when he's off of work, which makes his main a low level. During mid day hours you usually only see bob spam about once every 10-15 minutes. Bob has also been buying characters with his plat lately, I don't think he sells.
