Not to be annoying, but as this is my first EQ PvP server, just a couple questions.
Do people carry around a PvE Set and a Resist set for PvP and try to instant swap when stuff happens? Or should I focus solely on the resists/hp 50+? Just trying to get an idea of what my money as I earn it should be going to.

When you can afford it, most people carry pve and pvp set. You sacrifice a lot of stats if you put on full resist gear unless you have good planar/dragon gear then you can just keep it on but until then yea. I have mana gear for quad kiting and resist gear for pvping

A lot of people carry both sets, I would suggest you work on a pvp set first though, not getting rooted and snared all the time is the most important thing you can work to. Some people (Willan aka DeadlyApostle) like to just carry a PvE set though and link the best items, like a trakanon BP to the people who kill them and that's pretty good to.

Once you do get 40+ or so though, yes, many players carry a PvP set and a PvE set, but then you have to balance that out with the need to leave bag slots open for clickies, so it becomes a bit difficult at times, especially if you're a class like a tank or an enchanter that needs to swap in and out a tremendous amount of gear. As far as HP vs Resists, the first resist you'll want to work on is MR. Work as hard as you can when you start worrying about it to getting it to the 150-200 range, which isn't as hard as it sounds. Two Wolf Eye Agate Bracers, a Wolf Eye Agate Neck, two Plat Jacinth Rings alone are 49 MR. Then combine with that depending on your class items such as a RBF / Earring of Essence / Split Paw Hide Mask or Lizardskin Mask or Diamond Mask, etc., and you can already push that number into the 70's. Once you get your MR to that range, then you can worry about fire/cold. For the HP vs Resists, it seems to be that once you can push your resists above 100ish, they start to scale better than HP vs casters. However, like all EQ PvP, it's incredibly fight dependent. If you're going up against an enchanter, only MR matters, vs a melee you want your hp gear, a druid probably your FR gear, a wizard you probably want CR a bit more than FR but it depends, necros/shamans disease/poison but it's pretty hard due to the gear limitations to get PR / DR to a level where you can consistently resist those + you can just carry cure pots. Good luck! Edit: this is one of the good parts about Velious. Many of the better PvE items in Velious are also the best PvP items, so far less pvp vs pve decisions need to be made.

Thanks for all the advice gents.
Just as a reference I'm Monk/Rogue currently, 40/23. Working on a caster class next. With the exp rate little hard to build the bank, so figure I'll have to set up shop and farm for a bit. And no baby momma, I have received a couple things(weapons) from passerby/groups - but done it all natural thus far, while seeing if I can snag a blue -> red to make the 50+ easier.

OT but your gif should showcase the 500 fouls that weren't called against the Nets. Kevin Garnett, not being called for fouls since 1995.
Good info in this thread otherwise thanks :P
