Default Kicked back to login screen

Returning player here (about 2 years off P1999).

I am running WINEQ2 (dual monitors). I followed all the instructions in the library forum (deleting the 5 files, patching, eqhost change). I did initially get the black screen bug at first startup so I downloaded WINEQ2 and that did fix it. However, I go to enter "station username" and password which lets me in, then I click on P1999 server and the screen goes black with the cursor.

I can alt enter to get back but it puts me back to "station username" to try all over again. I've tried other servers and get the same bug.

EDIT: Messed with login stuff and don't get the black screen anymore - but it still punts me back to putting in my username and password.

Ok got the game working on my laptop. Same router/modem as my desktop - and the laptop is wireless and the desktop is wired. So I don't think it's a network issue. Both are running windows 7.

Desktop still punts to login regardless of what I do. WinEQ2 running or not. Full screen or not. Tried running in Win XP SP3 and Win XP SP2 compatibility modes. Still same thing.

Desktop specs if helpful:

AMD 9590 (8 core)
EVGA Nvidia 680
Asus republic of gamers Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard
ADATA 256gb SSD
ADATA DDR 2400 mhz Ram (2 x 4 gigs)

Both laptop and desktop are running Windows 7 64 bit. Laptop is 4 core AMD as well. I was even able to just copy EQ (unmodified, other than EQlite) from a flash drive to the laptop and it booted right up with no issues at all.

Still no luck [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] anyone help? Tried flushing dns. Tried going single monitor. Set affinity to 1 core. Set resolution to 1024x768 both for desktop and EQ.
