Default new player questions

I have been playing on a different EQEmu throughout the years, but am looking to return here, got a level 3 druid or 11 mage I think I will be playing. It's definitely a culture shock going from 18boxing with MQ2 to 1boxing on P99, and I'm trying to read up as much as I can.

1. Is there a general chat channel? /join 1 etc? Misty Thicket is lonely.
2. 2boxing is obviously strictly forbidden, this will remain so in Velious/future? Noticed Beta allows 2boxing.
3. Maps.. whats the most frequent method for getting old maps/connected zones since they arent allowed in game?
4. I got 3 gold, 80 silver, is there anything unique to this server that new peeps can farm to sell to older players?
5. Is grouping still viable? Obviously level 3 is a bit early to bother with groups.
6. Any estimation on Velious Release date?
7. Any other advice?

Thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

No. There is an IRC channel, though, and there are casual leveling guilds you can join.

Yes. You can go group at Orc Hill in Kelethin at level 3. Crushbone, Blackburrow, and EC are all popular for level 5+.

Probably several months.
