Game Launch issue

Hello, I just bought my wife a new laptop and the drives are petitioned, D having the bulk of the memory. So I downloaded the files on to that drive but it is trying to Launch out of C still. The Command prompt appears showing the directory address as C:\users\"username"\desktop.start\eqgame.eses.patc hme, with an error message"Windows cannot find ;\eqgane.exe make sure you typed the name etc etc.
I have downloaded the patch to the EqverQuest folder.
Anyone haven any suggestions?..thank you
