Game Mechanics: Cannot loot items off of bodies, including my own.

I had previousy posted this in the petition forum as I thought my character as "stuck." but was told to post here instead by a guildie, so here is a copy/paste of where I am at.

Hello friendly GM's, Thanks for your time!

I am experiencing a problem on my (check my post in petitions for account name) account on the character, "Boros".

I have a body in The hole. I looted my body except for 1 item, so that I could recieve a rez when a cleric was near by. The left behind item is my pegasus cloak.(The only one I own, none in bank or anything like that)

About an hour after my death, my cleric friend was able to stop by my entrance camp in the hole and click rez my corpse. Since this has happened, I cannot loot any items off of any corpse, npc or pc.

I can click the corpse to loot, which will put any pp/gp/sp/cp onto my character, but if i click an item to loot it; the item will remain on the body. (Non-lore items are included in the items I cannot loot. It's any and all items)

I have tried logging and rebuilding my eq database. I have also used my other account (check petition post for account name) on "Obito" in the same location to test for a bug but did not find anything on that character out of the ordinary.

I know you are busy and this may be low on your list of to do's, but as of right now, this little bug makes my character un-able to play as I am missing out on half the game, the pixel craze!

I will only be logging into "Boros" for now to see if this bug has been resolved.

Small update, but the issue is still occuring.

So I logged in, moved my body 1 time to the top of the ledge at hole entrance, I then went to loot the body, right click, nothing, left click and drag, nothing, left click wait, nothing, everything I did would close the window.

I go to loot again, I hold down right click till the items description window comes up, THEN right click the item, the pegasus cloak, and it goes into my inventory...

I tried to repeat this process outside in paineel on decaying skeletons but I cannot repeat the steps. I am not sure if it's because I moved the body, then inspected item, then looted?

The account/character is still occuring the same bug and I'm afraid to do anything else on this character, as if I don't want to die.

Another small update

Not sure if it's a related problem, but it is a problem only being seen on "Boros" on the (check petition post for account name) account.

Whenever I remove an item that is being worn by Boros, my client crashes. I can pick up other items from my inventory. Pegassus cloak, Black Dire boots just fine, but I cannot pick up an item that my character is wearing.

Upon un-equiping the item (any item, bp, weapon, shield) my client crashes to desktop reporting a "Everquest has detected that your client may have crashed..."

I am now going to reinstall the titanium client as I have not received any word from any gm about the issue, or if anyone has tested this issue.



After that last message I did a full reinstall of the client and am having the same issues. The character is unplayable as is, Please help me! or at least contact me. I am very sad I can't play this character. Thanks again for your time.

Final log.

I was upset that I couldnt play but I could at least sell my items.

I went to the vendor and cleared my bags of trash loot. I then went to the bank and converted my gp to pp and banked it. I then banked my spare hole key (was carrying 2 as I had go on a cr in the hole and the key is not given back to you when you die).

After banking said items and restesting all that had made me crash before, nothing is doing it now.

I do not know the exact reason, but I am willing to bet it was holding 2 hole keys that caused the issue to begin with. The hole key itself is not lore so I am not sure why this happened to begin with, but I would look into that.

Boros is now playable!

Duplicate Paineel Keys will cause this issue (surprised a non-lore hole key would though).

I posted a bug report a few weeks ago.

Makes sense... and I'm just glad I kept a detailed account of what happened. Hopefully this will help the gm's resolve the issue for the future.

More on this, Since I was able to recover my body, I have noticed a few items that I am currently unable to loot if I am carrying a paineel key, and/or a hole key.

I was unable to loot "a fire opal" if I had my paineel key on me, when i deleted it, I was able to loot the item.

I was unable to loot "mithril amulet" if I had my hole key on me, when i deleted it, I was able to loot the item.

I know nothing about the games code or anything like that, but is it possible some items are sharing the same identifier for multiple items?

it's the key, delete it, relog, new one will appear. Do thay until no new key. I think the items are landimg on invis keys bag slot
