The great Velious information blitz

So as some of you may know, part of the success i think of the new Dark age of Camelot server was in part due to me starting threads here and on the rerolled forums. Threads that have 12k views here and 25k at rerolled. Im not throwing myself flowers. Anybody could have started those threads. It just means there is still great interest about old school MMO boxes because the current MMO scene is so stale.

If the devs do not listen to ill-advised suggestions from GMs who probably never actually tried to play on the server, like nerfing xp as population is picking up, i think the server could really flourish when velious hits.

With a group effort, i really think we could bring red's pop to 500-800 and then we could see some really interesting PVP, niche guilds and alliances that isnt possible on a low pop box.

I wish this would be a new server but kind of made my peace that a new P99 red server after a wipe isnt happening. So what i propose is posting on various gaming forums that Velious is going to go live on Red99 in the months to come and that now would be a great time to get a headstart.

Then a week before Velious launches, bump your threads, make genuine comments about how excited you are about it, and hopefully we get a nice surprise like we had when we first saw the numbers that DAOC:Origins got.

Again its harder to get people excited over a server thats almost 3 years old, but if we can break the 500 people at peak hours barrier i think it the blitz will have been a success.

Start these threads, post them here. I am all for server revitalization. Gladly make a few posts on other forums or bump others.

Any old XK/DDW/Adu from VZ know where they're hanging out now?

EDIT: Nevermind, their forums are still active.

I'm sure they have all hung themselves in their parents basements years ago due to them realizing they were terrible players and ultimately failed in life as well.

What the server cruelly needs is a breath of fresh air to clean all that angry nerd toxicity that kind of permeates these forums and part of the playerbase of red99.

With a blitz like that, its possible that entire new crews of players from different games will decide to come on board and slowly drown out the more negative aspects of red99. They will probably still be around till the server gets unplugged, but with them being a smaller % of the playerbase it hopefully wont matter as much.

Tradesonred was confirmed perma mad about his rubi BP lewtz millions of years ago..

FYI trades I got one given 2 me, I still use it everytime I roll an alt. I started after rubi stopped falling from the sky like candy.

Perhaps your issues are not losing /randoms, but playing the game???? It requires a bare minimum of social skill.

I mean I think most people have this issue and it's why the population tanks. That and people are thrust directly into neckbeard raid orgs instead of pvping in small family oriented anti-pk guilds like flowers as they explore and socialize nostalgiacly throughout the old content they missed, skipped (and are forced to skip again)

Also pvp has little meaning without itemloot.

Who feels like their getting immersed when their getting txted in afghanistan??? over dragon lewtz? no one... shit is unreal to expect people to max level to 60 within 1-2 weeks of starting a char. Nothing you can do to speed that process up is going to fix things. Spreading people thinner isn't going to help either. Velious won't fix the current issue. Contention won't happen when the only people who make the cut are the diehards who want to make that level 60 DKP machine roll.

Lastly, 70% of the people who are diehards would still play anyway. Regardless of what they say or whine about... I know cause I use to be one and I played when the server was much worse.

I pretty much beat samwises solo melee challenge more or less.

Perhaps if your OP stayed on topic about promotion, instead of being all over the place, and sounding whiny, and desperate. Your overall tone would be different and you might have a positive impact on peoples opinions.

Just not going to respond to ludicrous false premises personal attacks like im pedanticly boasting when i clearly specify the thread views have nothing to do with me starting them, anymore.

If you dont want to talk about ways to get the server known, to link gaming forums where you can try to get the server some exposure and instead want to talk about how people killing themselves is something to laugh about or try to make this thread about me, paint me in a bad light, you will get ignored.
