Default Science fiction movies, Good new ones or old obscure ones

Liking all these suggestion thread, so why not one on science fiction movies!

Lets try to resist the temptation to post obvious stuff like alien, which we all know is a masterpiece [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Maybe if youre gonna post movies older than 2000, try to get some titles that are obscure a bit.

Now im gonna name some that are obvious a bit, just to get them out of the way

Movies i saw recently that were pretty good:

The duncan jones movies:

- Moon and source code (Like Moon alot more but source code still allrite)

Alfonso Cuarzon movies:

- Children of men, Gravity (Awesome movie, totally regret not seeing this on the big screen)

--

- Judge Dredd. Im not familiar with the comics. Apparently the comic is a satire of fascism where the movie just went straight fascist without any satire in it. Still enjoyed the visuals very much and worth seeing just for that. Soundtrack meshing well with movie as well.

- City of Ember, with a nice part played by Bill Murray. Makes me think of fallout a bit, not great but pretty enjoyable

- Melancholia, First part of the movie... not gonna spoil stuff but stick it out to the 2nd part, its worth it. Not a pew pew explosion type of movie but really good.

- Super8, sort of Goonies with spaceships and aliens, pretty cool

- Monsters, aliens land on earth (IIRC) and some zones are quarantined, 2 journalists need to make their way from mexico to the US hitchin rides
