![]() Same time last year when I was filing for my taxes, I had about 33K in student loans and I paid like 2K in interest. I never really paid attention to it, paying min payment bc I was 2 years removed from college, but I was quite pissed off I paid so much interest. Now it's a year later and after paying roughly 2-2.5K a month, I have 5K left and should be completely debt free sometime in April...pras!

![]() Nice job man. I worked like 70 hours a week when I first graduated to pay off my small loans. Feels good to be debt free

![]() In the UK you don't pay it back til you're earning over a certain amount, and then it comes out of your pay.
Quietly I think its responsible for a lot of English students getting their degrees, not being able to find work to go with it...and emigrating to somewhere nicer without the hassle of paying them back [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

![]() I'm a little jealous... I have to min-pay mine or I can't feed my kids, but thankfully I got what probably equates to a shitty education and don't owe much.
If I paid back 2k+ a month, I'd be done this year, but would likely have to move the family into a refrigerator box in a back alley.
