Default DAOC Origins - 40 hours till server launch

Sorry to post it here, hope its ok. I honestly wish nothing but the best for the future of red99 but myself im done with it.

So theres a DAOC server that opens on 16th 12pm EST

http://daoc-origins.net/download/

Client and patch link, then use DAOC portal to connect

Theres already a post in off topic but since its a pvp heavy game and im guessing part of the pop dont read off topic, i figured would be good to put a thread here

Again wish nothing but the best for red99, not trying to steal players, directed at players like me whove hanged their red99 jersey but still read forums once in a while.

I played DAOC for a very short time, is this an emulator or a new DAOC game?

I also never played but always seems like people loved the game that did. Ditto on that question, is this something like a classic EQ server or would it be compared to a new EQ live server opening?

Classic, it runs the classic game + the shrouded isles expansion, so like Kunark i guess.

Never got past 30 on uthgard but mainly because i was getting run over in RvR by established hard twink gank trains, gonna be nice to try this on a clean slate.

I'm sure I would be more excited if I knew more about it. Trying to learn an old game like that where others are experts is a big task unless you have a ton of time to invest.

Yeah not gonna lie game is a bit impenetrable, only get a respec at 40 i think. Still looks like a game with depth though. Im going as mercenary and theres a bunch of abilities i can only do if a player has done something. So if he parries, i can do that counter, etc etc...

Theres some noob info last pages of this thread

http://www.rerolled.org/showthread.p...ins-New-Server

If you ask nicely some experienced player there is probably gonna give you some tips on a good class template, class choice etc...

A good page for class breakdown separated for each faction

http://uthgard.blogspot.ca/p/albion-class-guide.html

Im gonna play with the rerolled crew and theyre gonna be easy on noobs, accept every class in groups etc... most are going albion

The uthgard forums is also a good source of info because its close in patch status, although i wouldnt take anything as cash because there is some differences, good for general class outlines etc

ProTip : If you want to play this on launch, get it installed and ready now. Bunch of shit you have to do to get it working, and those forums are burtal, tonto speak galore
