Default Don't Let the Dream Die!

I'll start by saying that I am pretty much a non-factor on Red server even though I have a 60 and several 50+ characters and have played there for a year.

This server has always been toxic. I should have known from the very first day I logged on in January 2013 and the first thing I saw in chat was an hour long diatribe by Slathar about how his ugly wife abuses him.

I'm completely neutral between the guilds. I've met cool people from Nihilum, Red Dawn, Azrael, etc... and I've met complete asshats from each of those guilds as well. However, with the introduction of the PnP, the emergence of Red Dawn and the cracking down by the administrators... the server has reached new heights of toxicity.

... which brings me to the point of this post.

Please don't let the Teams server not happen. I'm pretty sure Sirken and Zade are seething with rage over the events of the last few weeks, the petitions, the bickering, the ooc flame wars, etc. Teams server would fix all that.

I assume that on a teams server, even if there is global ooc... it would only be team global ooc. Meaning the people that you are fighting against can't hear your shit talking, and can't shit talk back to you. The benefits of global ooc remain (feeling like you're playing with other people, making trading and finding groups possible, socializing, etc) while the problems with it would be eliminated.

Griefing. Maybe I'm mistaken, but when you're part of a community that has common cause against another community... you're much more willing to help other people and work together. So if a group of people from your team are being corpse camped... it's in your best interest to pitch in and help them out. After all, next week it might be you that needs help.

I don't think there would need to be nearly as much GM arbitration for things like the PnP on a Teams server. The community should hopefully helps its own. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. But can it get any worse than what it is now?

Sorry to drone on about this for so long. And I'm sure there will be no end to the flame posts about "yet another stupid teams post" and that I should stfu, but you know what? I was really excited when they announced the prospect of a teams server. But that was 4 months ago now and I am very concerned that the Project1999 admin staff are going to just throw up their hands and say "to hell with this" and abandon the plans for the Team server, and perhaps even the Red server as well. Lord knows as a community we don't deserve anything from them right now.

You can't look down on a guild for trying to uphold what the GMs have put in place. Red Dawn has promoted a play nice policy before the GMs ever mentioned it. They never expected guilds like Nihilum to take part in it. Now that it is part of the rules why not hold them to it? Red Dawn takes it a step further and offers rezzes to fallen foes as a sign of respect and this is known to be a one sided gift.

As for teams I hope you get your server. There are others that feel the same.

I didn't mean to imply that Red Dawn is the sole cause of the increased levels of discord that the server has recently experienced. That is not true at all. The emergence of Red Dawn is simply the biggest thing to happen to the server recently (aside from the GM crackdowns on griefing) This server was plenty toxic before Red Dawn ever existed. Personally I think that a Teams server would fix many of the problems that plague the Red server.

will still be the same toxic stuff but also same team griefing.

Things just aren't the same as they used to be, the quality of the average person has gone down hill

I totally respect Red Dawn up until the point they merged with Azrael and invited half their toxic players.

Azrael trained Veeshan's Peak via a loophole on the blue server, which is a 'CLEAR ABUSE OF RULES' on a PvP server.

Azrael also frequently bind camped Nihilum once Erudin became the main bind location and their members clearly encouraged a griefing mentality.

The fight between Azrael and Nihilum was brutal and unforgiving and many players were caught in between, with Azrael killing all non Azrael and coercing them into joining.

You are telling me that Red Dawn is an honest family oriented guild that does not condone griefing when they have taken players like this into their guild and given them officer positions?

The writing is on the wall.

If Nihilum are stamped into the ground via petitionquest abuse, I foresee Azrael members will throw a coup and kick Heartbrand out and they will cull the player base to run a lean loot farming machine or Heartbrand will remove those members and absorb Nihilum.

Either way its going to be a cluster-fuck of toxicity, just wait and see.

So you're telling me had roles been reversed tune wouldn't have been training us in VP? This is the same guild where we COTH'ed ender using modem tactics to try to get behind azraeldentist in trak lair to delay them, would bolt through walls to stop naggy with a Mage army, hid multiple casters at vox for over six hours till four am in the morning to try to wipe a vox engage, etc.? Yaw ok.

As said many times, if the server were to end up with red dawn on top with no competition I would do my best to foster fun, healthy and friendly competition either by leaving targets up for small crews to compete for or an in guild draft etc.

So let me get this straight. Red Dawn can't invite Azrael members, but Nihilum can? Am I getting this correctly? Because as of right now both Red Dawn and Nihilum as I'm sure other guilds on the server have former Azrael toons.

Just making sure.

P.S.
