Default After Velious

Fun discussion question for everyone!

Once Velious is out and you've had your fun of gearing up 1,2,20 characters, what are your plans? Move on to a different server? Different game altogether?

Based on the behavior of current players, I'd say lock up the raid scene forever.

Most likely make pug groups for DN and just have fun grinding on mobs and talking to people.

I'd hope they'd consider Luclin. EQ1 on live might be shut down by then, and if so there's probably more leverage to add an expansion or two. Could P99 go to PoP? A lot of people would love it I'd think... but that's all a pipe dream.

Would be interested to see some custom content if not [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I don't think they are gonna add Luclin as that is where the rift of players begins to form. You have a certain group that is Pre-Luclin, and then another group that is Pre-PoP.

I do like the thought of custom content though. It could carry on the EQ spirit in a way that Sony themselves couldn't do.

Even if they gave us some of the features from later expansions (level cap increase, AA's (fading memories, anyone?), guild tool, chat channels, shared banks...) and maybe some zone revamps to accommodate the increased levels, I think it would go a long way towards server longevity.

Luclin would only be good if it can be released without the graphics. AAs and content only.

The option always existed to use the old models. I used to do it on raids to save framerate. I always found it amazing how a game from 1999 could tax my decent hardware when enough objects were in view. I would use old models, turn off effects and names, stare at the ground and fight or twist resists. lol

EQ2 is still that way. And Planetside. Sony just isn't the best when it comes to engine optimizations. (They are getting better though I think... PS2 had some performance patches recently that help, but older games won't get the same treatment.)

We've had Kunark for how long? Generally a lot of players are sitting back til Velious or are playing but bored etc.

After Velious releases and has been around for as long, I'm sure there'll be some calls for more content... Luclin or not [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Personally I think Luclin is underrated, but I can see why people don't like it. Take the bazaar away and keep the EC feel, perhaps.
