Default dual core +p99

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261341713840

AM building a shuttle pc that has the above cpu.

SO far ive played P99 on single core processor and had no problems.

DO i have to jump through technical hoops to play p99 on a multicore processor?

probaly install win 7.

I have the option of using a regular pentium 4 chip...

However the pentium D has much better cashe on it.

any other chips you can recomend? for socket 775....

the only 'technical hoop' would be setting up to run eq with cpu affinity set to just one core, or doing it manually each time you run eq.

this isn't even always necessary on all processors, but some need it set or you'll have weird bugs in game.

I have dual core and I have to run it through WINEQ2 because of all the weird hitches and stuff.

think ill stick to a p4 install onthis Mboard.

I just need a reliable stable version of eq to play, regardless of the speed. Having it on a quiet pc is a bonus.(shuttle)

Current pc crashes at random intervals, and so far the 2 crashes while in eq didnt get me killed, but will happen at some point......its good pc for web surfing, but its spoiling my solo time in eq.......not good!

for future ref though, which is the most powerful cpu i can put on a socket 775 mboard? Some sort of dual core i guess?

get a quad core, no issues.
this. plus do the affinity thing. P99 doesn't need more than 1 core. There is an explanation of it on the forums somewhere.
