Unhappy Installing Titanium on Win XP

My roommate has been trying to install EQ Titanium on his laptop, which is an Intel Core Duo cpu running Win XP Home SP3. He's tried using the same install files I did, and just in case they were corrupt he redownloaded them himself. Every time he tries to open the install.exe or setup.exe he gets the generic error message:

Quote:
Setup has experienced an error.

Please do the following:
- Close any running programs. (check)
- Empty your temporary folder (check)
- Check your Internet connection [Internet based setups] (should not matter for this, but check)

Then try to run the Setup again.

Error code -6001
Anyone else have this problem and/or know how to resolve it?

Thanks

Perform a websearch for error code 6001. You'll find some information which suggests the problem potentially lies with the installer and not with Titanium.

I had a similar issue while installing Titanium client on my laptop which is an HP laptop and is a little old. It also has Intel Centrino duo. Don't really know if any of that is relevant but the way I had to fix it was to download WinEQ2 and run EQ that way vice opening the actual eqgame. It has something to do with the graphics card and EQ attempting to open in fullscreen mode which causes it to crash. I don't think my error was the same but it might be something you could try.
