Default Job question

hey guys,

I was offered a job today which is work from home and pays 10k more than my current job. Both are stable. Should I take the new job?

I would possibly pass up on a bonus (not sure how much it would be) but I would save about 5500 a year in commuting costs...

Sounds really emptying for sure just make sure you're the right person for the job when it comes to working remotely. It takes a lot of focus and discipline to not get distracted and really out your best foot forward. You don't want your home to feel like work because that will give you no escapes.

Congratulations though it really does sound like a great opportunity.

Thanks! I have worked remotely before (3 days a week) and am pretty used to it. I like being able to just get up and grab a coffee or something to eat and when I am done working, I am already home. Right now I commute into the city on train and it really wore itself out fast. Sitting on a crowded train with a bunch of people coughing and sneezing...

That does sound fairly miserable, with smart phones you can do whatever to pass the time (not like he old days).

I'm fairly lucky in that I live in a spread out Canadian city. My drive is 45 mins to work and 50 home so really I just crank the tunes and try not to get too pissed off at other people.

IMO you should take the job - sounds like you already have the skills to work from home.

NJ is the greatest of all states, and working remotely tends to drive people mad in my experience. Seen too many normal people develop crippling depression from working from home.

Serious? Not having to drive with a bunch of retards or taking the train with people pushing and shoving, sneezing and coughing etc. Plus NY is filled with a bunch of crazies. besides, I worked from home 3 days a week at my old job and mostly gamed....
