The O in OF is a long O and maybe transitition to the shorterned version [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Exactly. It's been sow with a short o since 1999 when I played in a computer shop with 24 computers. Every person called it that...

Or even Bow (for the archer) and Bow (for the gentleman)

Edit: Just a comparison of the same word with two completely different meanings but pronounced differently. I know I didn't include an "oe" ending version.
