you can tell whn it is hitting.

Finish up current business, then go into safe mode. Cast invises, move to an alcove out of aggro range, etc.

Just stop until it ends.

The point is to disrupt is. So we just ignore it and take breaks until it stops.

Not a total solution, but certainly robs theperpetrators of the charm they are griefing tons ofpeople. Most camps have safe spots.

Just an idea.

... except that having to stop what you're doing for the duration of the ddos IS the point of the ddos. you'd be accomplishing nothing to dissuade said attacker.

We went through this before, kiddies. It required a massive overhaul of the server equipment. I guess this attack is an a larger scale. I say that if there is hardware solution... let's get an estimate and start the donations.

Do you have any idea on how much money was donated before to get a brand new server up and running?

How much money do you think it will cost this time around to fix it?


Lets say it was ohhh I dont know............. let me throw a complete random number out there, hows $8450.99 sound.

Now lets say the data center charges you a fee of Hmmm $525.00 a month (an other completely random number i tossed out there) to run it every month.

OK, so now you need a better server right? Ok so using those (inaccurate) facts that I pulled out of the air to give you how much will a new server cost and how much will it run it monthly?

lets say you got one that is double the amount of goodness it is. lets say its a 10 gig server and now you want to go to 20 gigs? (no idea if that is even possible I am completely guessing at everything) is it safe to say it will cost somewhere in the ball park of 15k -16k ? and will it cost somewhere around 1K a month to run it?

That sounds crazy, but I hope wrong and I am sure my numbers are way off so hopefully Rogean will post some numbers on what to do to fix it so the donations can start flowing in
