All you would need to do is put up a sticky calling for donations to pay for the hardware and bandwidth and advising that only those who donate will have input into the ruleset.

My suggestion, and I'll be happy to donate if there's a commitment to a new server, would be total FFA. Instead of destroying the server by punishing one guild for the same offenses another guild gets a free pass on, make it a no rules server and stay out of any judgement calls.

I disagree. There is a slowly increasing variety of players. Lots of people I have grouped with 1-30 or just chatted with enpassing are not enraptured in the long and sordid history of one guild and their foes. They don't know who to join or what to do yet. They have open minds and with that the power to do something different.

There's plenty room for change and growth. You are looking into the past and trying to predict a long term future. When the very moment is changing before your eyes. Why don't you take a look around. Not on these forums, and see what you are missing because of your dogged focus on <Nihi> and all that entails?

Anyway I disprove of the negativity and inflammatory nature of the OPs post. Nothing so majorly gamebreakingly exploitive has happened that this must be the case. Velious is not even out yet. I can't even tell if those quotes are in context or even meant to be serious.

I like fresh starts. But give it a year, or two.

I always thought this would be fun - have like seasons of an ever wiping pvp box, could do classic/kunark/velious change it up etc... 6 months long or whatever, although the exp rate/drop rate would need to be boosted significantly.

Dev/Image would be perfect for some custom ideas for PVP if they had p99 code to build on, and maybe tweak resists/mess around a bit.

The stagnant state of red99 kind of sucks, I always enjoyed new boxes rising and falling.

pretty sure that this wouldn't work, for legal reasons

might sound like there's a loophole because you're calling them "donations," but at that point its pretty obvious that its pay-to-play.

To loosely quote Sirken:

"This isn't VZTZ. We aren't wiping. Ever"

Keep holding your breath though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The only reason I agree a wipe is necessary is to level the playing field of previous corruption across the board.

You underestimate the damage letting one guild get away with murder when other groups can't do the same over even a period of time like a few months.

Nevermind years...

The sheer fact that entire swaths of people are 100% known to have exploited the endgame for a period of time and aren't banned is pathetic.
Then just wipe gear or ban guild. Or guild leaders.
