Default Dark elf newb initial bind point

The current initial bind point for dark elves seems very off. I forget if these are assigned just by race, if its race/class, or race/class/diety. I rolled an agnostic de enchanter, and after dieing found myself on the other side of the nektulous bridge.

I did a lot of classic newbie PVP in Nektulous, and my memory puts the bind point at approximately 2000, -700. At the very least, it is between the log nearest Neriak, and the large hill directly next to it. It may even have been on the log, or on the hill, but I'm pretty certain it was in that direct vicinity.

This is a somewhat minor issue but adds a great deal of time/difficulty to a new dark elf. If someone were ever to be a 'true newbie', this would cause much confusion.

Yar, it was originally just outside the gate.

Similar thing in Butcherblock Mountains for Dwarves. What's happening is newbies are being sent to the zone's succor point for some reason. In BBM this a fatal place to be if there's a krag chick nearby, as evidenced by the large number of intersecting mob paths and corpse pile.

How is this possible? The coordinates come from somewhere, is the emu source not available for some reason?

The database does NOT read this correctly. 3 other developers and myself have tried the known eqemu method of modifying the bind location that works for all other characters. It doesn't work. I think it might have something to do with Nektulos being revamped.

I think the source developers might be able to do something. Provide exact locations of where you *should* be bound by default and I'll ask them if its possible.

As output by /loc, 2055.50, -701.67, 46.61 feels classic. It may not be perfect, but is the same for all practical purposes.

The map at http://www.eqmacwiki.com/eqatlas/nektulosmap.html verifies this location as 'newbie area'.

That seems to jive with my memory as well, right outside the entrance, slightly above the foot of the mountain.
