Default Spell Sparkles

Is it possible to upgrade the sparkle effects client side? I distinctly remember the sparkles being much more intense and pleasurable to my eyeballs in classic eq.

I think you can turn up their intensity via the options menu...

Alt+O, then go to the display tab, and find the spell effects dropdown bar....turn em up [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Don't forget particles change when you reach certain levels, at 24 and 36 they get much more detailed.

What these two guys said is true. And there is definitely a way to turn the intensity up in display options (EQ has a very robust graphics settings menu!)

Turned all the way up and grouped with a bard, you'll just see 5 other balls of spell effects running around - hard to see the characters through it all [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
