Was pleased they got rid of her but was SO SAD REGARDING THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

yeah, but it turned the boy into a more likable character. Sad, but worth it in more ways than one.

Some parts of the comic don't translate well into television. But they're still important parts to the overall story.
