Default New Player - Intro

Hi everyone!

I had originally gained interest in this server two years ago, but was discouraged by the cost of retail Titanium sets. On my recent visit and SEARCHING these forums, I found the solution that has oft been repeated. Biting the bullet and risking my computer's well-being, I managed to obtain a copy of Titanium. So here I am.

I played a wizard up to level 10 during beta and started over as a cleric for release. Played a couple years very fervently to the detriment of everything that was not EQ. After playing through RoK, it was time to rejoin reality. It was an incredible experience playing, as I am sure many of you EQ vets can relate.

Fast forward back to the present: I spent the weekend exploring as a necromancer (class envy from my memory as a cleric). Spoke with some very nice players. The community seems very nice compared to some of the UO freeshard communities.

About myself: I enjoy power gaming, but EQ is the antithesis of instant gratification. So bracing myself for the long, slow haul. I have been reacquainting myself with game mechanics and geography as well as progression planning. Older, hopefully a little wiser, I'm keen to see where this new perspective and focus takes me.

My lovely counterpart, who is NOT a power gamer, but very devoted companion that has adventures beside me through almost a dozen MMO will be joining me and this will be her first experience with EQ. Until the petition is approved, I am giving her the head start in my place.
(as a disclaimer: I have noticed a lot of clamor on the boards regarding 2 boxing. Just to nip things in the bud, I'd like to think I have enough common sense and constraint to know better than logging on her legitimate account if she were not playing, even to buff..as that would be a violation of policy.)

Thank you for reading my loquacious introduction. And thank you in advance for all the welcome wishes. Look forward to adventuring with you all, soon.
