Necro Pets, Wisps, and Weapons...

What effects my pets ability to hit a wisp? Earlier today my level 12 convoke shadow pet was hitting wisps with equipped rusty weapons... tonight he is not. I thought the pet had to be a certain level... anyone clue me in?

Your pet has a level range when summoned. One was high enough, one was not.
