Default New Player Question

Hello everyone!

I am a first time EQ player and very excited to get into the game. However, I am curious how easy it is to find groups as a lower level beginner now-adays as I know that grouping is a much bigger part of EQ than other MMOs. Will there still be some low levels to group with or will I have to slug it out until I catch up a bit?

Green server is probably your best bet to find some groups.

I'd suggest making a class that you enjoy primarily but think about being able to solo for those times you can't find a group anywhere. A rogue or warrior would be a bad pick, but a necromancer, magician or maybe a druid will do better in those quiet times [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you have a friend who might be interested in playing as well then that opens up all kinds of duo options <3

Thanks for the info! I was kinda hoping to roll a warrior to tank some, but I’ve heard that solo play is basically non existent :P

If you need a guild, Self Found is looking for more, just use the gear you loot/earn
Do /who all Self and ask for an invite, we group all the time

Monk might itch your scratch, also paladin can solo but slowly.

SK has fear kiting which lets you do some soloing!

All 3 are tank-y but have some utilities that let you solo a bit.

Just tossing that out there!

I found a paladin easier to solo on a budget than SK.

For your first char I would roll a caster, necros and mages for example. The mage will be more limited than the necro. You can group or solo with either class. Once you are able to kill/loot/sell fine steel life gets way better.

If the enchanter is appealing all the better. By far the best money maker in the game and always appreciated by a group.
