V44 "your spell file is outdated"

Hi all, trying to get on P99. Getting "your spell file is outdated message"

I've:

1. Downloaded and extracted / replaced with the v44 files
2. Restarted my computer
3. Made sure antivirus was off / my folder has permissions and is excluded from firewall


Any ideas what's wrong?
Can load up the game and everythign but when I get to character creation screen it says the files are outdated no matter what I do!

Solved the problem.

Like many others, it was the antivirus. I had to uninstall all EQ files, then disable my antivirus and firewall.

I then re-installed everything fresh and it worked perfectly. I enabled the anti-virus and firewall after and the game works fine.

Having exact same problem. Reinstalled and reupdated game, same problem. Was working yesterday.

Antivirus programs have been sweeping out the dll. White list your EQ folder and reinstall the patch.
