Default Launcher appears offline / won't allow me to log in

Hey guys - super excited to be coming back to EQ.

I've just installed the game, followed the guides etc. and can't seem to get the launcher to allow me to log in.

I've tried all the standard stuff, rebooting, drivers are updated, reinstalling etc.

I'm using WinEQ to try and run the game.

Any thoughts / input on how to get myself online? Hoping that I just missed something mundane and easy.

Screenshot of launcher message attached.

Thanks in advance,

Panda

Just to verify - you didn't launch the vanilla EQ (and let the client patch) prior to copying the p99 files over, did you?

Are you on a network that might be blocking certain traffic/ports? I know I can't connect on certain networks...

I'm also not able to login, my brother is also experiencing the same problem, both of us tried to login to red and blue p99. When selecting the server then pressing "Play Everquest" the error pops up "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server."

True to form it was something small and mundane.

In my infinite wisdom, I downloaded but did not extract the P99 files over the original files.

Please close thread.

If this isn't the problem then it's probably a connectivity issue, in which case:

Are there any other devices connected to your router, wirelessly or otherwise? If something else on your network is hogging bandwidth this could happen - you can find out if this is the issue by connecting to your router's configuration page and changing your network password. Could also be caused by a weak wireless connection if you're connected wirelessly. When you reset your router it's a good idea to disconnect the internet line for a good five minutes so that you'll be assigned a new IP address when you reconnect.

If none of that works, I'd call your ISP and have them run some diagnostics on your connection.
