New to EQ, started last week

Already reached level 17 today on my half elf druid (Xodian). Just want to say that my experience so far has been phenomenal. Almost everyone I've played with so far has been incredibly friendly and helpful, which was a big shock to me at first because I thought '99 would be exclusively old school players who would look down on noobs. I'm pleased to say that has not been the case at all. There are actually a fair number like myself who are playing this as our first encounter with EQ, and whether its giving buffs gratis, assistance with corpse runs, rez's, or just answering questions in chat, the players in game have been overwhelmingly helpful on my journey so far, and I'm really humbled and thankful to play with such fine upstanding lads and gals as yourselves. Finally, I just wanted to come here to the forums and say thanks, both to the community who make the experience fun and enjoyable, and the devs who made it all possible and keep the servers going.

If you haven't guilded up yet check out Dial a Port. We specialize in bringing up new toons and giving them a leg to stand on by helping them learn their way around EQ and all the fun in and outs.

Just do a /who all dial and ask anyone in the guild for more information.

Hi! I just started today also. I played a loooong time ago (1999 and on), quit and came back for a little around 10 years ago, and now here I am on P99. If anyone ever wants to group or anything I am Tailyah, an erudite mage. I need to get my feet wet again!

Tupakk, I followed your advice and tried to send someone a tell but it is saying that my tell isn't being sent because of spam filter restrictions - can anyone help with this?
