Cant get access to Old characters

I have purchased a Windows 10 new laptop. I followed all of the directions of installing eq emulator. I went through the process three times...I'm good on that. I amended the eqhost file, eq launcher file, upgraded all of the drivers, etc.

The launcher will launch. I am not able to access the characters that currently exist. In the bottom row, where I might want to create a toon, is a message "Error Code SP 1".

I am able to access my toons from my older laptop, which is a windows 8.

I am at a loss at this point.
