WINE Issue: Error in your GUI XML files

I'm trying to get P99 to work on my Linux Mint box, but when I run:

wine "/home/me/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Sony/EverQuest/eqgame.exe" patchme

I get the following cryptic error:

Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt

my UIErrors.txt is worthless though; all it has is:

UIErrorLog created at Sun Dec 15 08:55:28 2013

Has anyone else run in to this particular error?
